It depends on the length and type of content. Once started, generation goes through a queue: its progress is visible at the top of the screen. You can leave the page, the work continues.
Generations are processed in order. "Pending" means it's in the queue and will start automatically. The queue indicator (at the top) shows its progress.
Yes. Social sign-in creates your account the first time and signs you back in afterwards, with no password to remember. See Account & sign-in.
